ABX participates in the Medtech Conference held at Duke University

ABX Engineering, Inc. is a 23-year-old ISO 9001-2000 approved contract electronics manufacturer which targets prototype, medium to large sized projects, now providing coast to coast coverage with offices in San Francisco, San Diego and Charlotte, NC.

ABX recently participated in the Medtech Conference held at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business on May 14, 2009. Donna Mowry , Sales Program Manager from the Charlotte ABX office represented ABX. Mowry stated, “Coming to this conference and spending two days in the Triangle area, is part of ABX‘s expansion and commitment to get to know and serve customers from this area.” Medtech is the Southeast’s premier conference dedicated to accelerating the growth of the advanced medical technology industry. It was presented by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) in partnership with Duke University and the North Carolina Advanced Medical Technology Center. The agenda featured international experts and visionaries that covered the entire spectrum of medical devices. Their presentations provided a birds eye view of the industry’s business needs, hot topics and emerging trends. The speaker panel represented leaders from California, to New York and all over the US. Speakers included, Dan Lemaitre, former CEO of CoreValve Inc., Bill Hawkins, Chairman and CEO, Medtronic, Inc. Dana Mead, Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers , Gregg Stone, Columbia University and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, Rick Anderson, Managing Director, PTV Sciences and many other key industry executives, doctors and scientists.

Donna Mowry stated “Everybody I talked to – from students with new prototypes to venture capitalists were all impressed with how our mission (at ABX as a development/production partner) reflects many of the platforms discussed at the conference. The emphasis on quality, building a sustainable, consistent operating system , being passionate about what we do, putting documentation in place and using it, learning from it, ABX is doing all of these things.
